Growing civically oriented software engineering firm seeks experienced web application engineer with mastery of Ruby and Javascript. This is a leadership role that we envision would develop into a Lead Developer position. We are a small but rapidly growing shop that does very interesting work — this role is really for someone who wants to make an impact and play a crucial role in a growing and dynamic company. Our clients range from the League of Conservation Voters, The World Bank, U. S. Congress, Bank of America, Best Buy and the Girl Scouts. We also have several internal products in the social media analytics space that we are bringing to market with similar top tier clients. Responsibilities include:
- Ruby/ROR development
- JavaScript development and application architecture
- working with clients to produce software specifications with input from others in the development team
- managing software projects and managing remote contractors
Qualified applicants will have at least 5 years of real world web application development experience and demonstrated mastery of Ruby and Javascript. Additionally, successful applicants will have some background in statistics and examples of where they have put this knowledge into practice. Ideally a candidate would have publicly accessible code on github, google code, sourceforge, or other public source repository. Perhaps most importantly, candidate should be self-motivated and a great communicator. Half of our team is on the west coast and we work with many remote contractors, so only efficient and organized communicators should apply.
