You wouldn’t be throwing events if you didn’t want attention, and unfortunately, getting the media with their slashed budgets to attend is getting really hard these days. If I was running my own campaign, I would put event coverage at the top of my list, especially if your competition doesn’t do it. The cash-strapped news media will take your event off of YouTube when trying to fill in their news holes, not to mention the bloggers, tweeters, and everyone else out there.

Without good solid video of your event online, this can’t happen. You could get your cousin to do it, but nothing distracts more from your message than amateur quality video. IB5k’s network brings creative professionalism to every event we cover. Your gathering is special, or else you wouldn’t be having it, so why should your video be anything less than epic?

Huge Events & Rallies: Oxfam: “Climate Week NYC: Tck Tck Tck”

Oxfam came to IB5k with 3 days notice. They were having a huge event to coincide with UN Week in New York City and had plans to construct a human hour glass in Central Park (to reflect the limited amount of time to act on Climate Change) but with only three days before the event they had no one to capture it on video! We not only brought the entire project together — including a live web stream of the human hour glass involving thousands of people in Central Park — we also produced and distributed videos throughout the week for national news and entertainment programs like “Entertainment Tonight”.

In A Hurry: Organizing For America: “What Change Looks Like”

It was the week the Health Care bill passed and President Obama was returning to the place where he originally announced his intentions to fix health care during his first term in offfice: Iowa City, IA. Organizing for America called us at 5pm the day before the shoot, and we had our IB5k crew member security-cleared and in position bright and early the next morning. Our video was put into a fundraising and support building email for Organizing For America. This effort was especially important to us, because it allowed Organizing For America to document President Obama making good on one of his largest campaign promises!
