Tom Hallaran

Tom cut his teeth as a bio-informatician at Washington University’s Genome Sequencing Center, writing software to automate the genome sequencing and mapping pipeline. Tom left academic computing to start a software consultancy, creating solutions for local unions, non-profits and small businesses. Along the way he got involved in community organizing, helping to found the Community Arts and Media Project in south St. Louis.

Prior to joining IB5k Tom spent three years as VP of Engineering at Nabbr, a New York based social application platform and video advertising network. At Nabbr, he developed interactive promotional products for record labels, film studios, TV networks and brand advertisers. Tom has expertise in planning, building and supporting large scale, high performance sites, applications and campaigns.

Tom lives in Manhattan and enjoys biking, growing vegetables in his window boxes and obsessively watching conservative pundits.
