Michael De Bonis is an independent media producer working primarily on web and radio projects. He was a Carl M. Wilson Scholar at Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated in 2002 with a BA in Philosophy. While there, he was an active radio DJ and filmmaker, and was awarded the Film Studies Department Production Grant to produce an original digital short he co-wrote and directed.
He began his journalism career at Chicago Public Radio with a production internship on the station’s award-winning news magazine show, Eight Forty-Eight. He built up his journalism chops writing scripts, reporting feature stories and news spots, and producing interviews with high-profile guests such as Cindy Crawford and Rev. Jesse Jackson.
Michael continues to produce stories for public radio and other media. He’s never met a creative medium he doesn’t like and usually has several projects in the works ranging from music and video to animation, screen printing, and design.
